Scope a live caricature booking

Hours, headcount, who keeps the drawings, breaks, and light — written down before the night.

A live gig goes wrong in the details: no chair, no break, a host who wants the drawings for an ad. A scope note is how you find that out while you can still say no.

  • Claude

Turns your checklist into a scope note. The numbers stay yours.

  • Google Docs

The note you send, with a date on it.

  • Calendly

Books a planning call. It does not describe the gig.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Fill your own blanks

Hours, arrival, expected guests, minutes per drawing, indoor or outdoor, who keeps the paper, whether photos of the work may be posted, and your fee. Leave blanks rather than guesses.

  2. 2

    Ask for missing questions

Give Claude the list and ask what a caricaturist often forgets: power, a backup light, a break, rain, a crowd larger than the hours. Add only the questions you will actually ask.

  3. 3

    Send it as a document

Put the result in Google Docs or a plain email. Ask the host to confirm in writing. A Calendly link can book the call. It is not the scope.

  4. 4

    Restate it on the day

If the room does not match the note, you have the email. Decide then, with the note in your pocket, not from memory.
