Prepare a print file from the shop's guide
Turn the printer's current instructions into a checklist, then do the checks on a copy.
Three hundred pixels per inch at final size is a common habit, not a universal law. The shop's page is the spec. A chatbot can only help you not skip a line.

Photopea
Checks pixel size, crops to a bleed, and exports a print file in the browser.
Affinity
A desktop photo editor for the same prepress checks.
Claude
Turns the shop's guide into a checklist. It does not replace the guide.
How to do it
- 1
Paste their guide, not a rumor
Copy the printer's current file requirements into Claude and ask for a checklist in your words: size, bleed, color mode, file type. Delete anything the guide did not say.
- 2
Set the canvas
In Photopea or Affinity, make the canvas the trim size plus the bleed they asked for. Place the art. Do not stretch it to fit.
- 3
Check pixels at the final size
If you are short, go back to the upscale workflow on a copy. If you are converting to CMYK because they asked, soft-proof and expect a shift. RGB is correct when they say RGB.
- 4
Export and reopen
Save the PDF or TIFF they asked for, reopen it, and look at the edges. Send that file, not the working document full of layers, unless they asked for it.
