Photograph a pose list you wrote

Ask for a shot list, then take the pictures yourself so the reference is yours.

A model is good at listing angles you might forget. It is a bad source of the pictures. You, a friend who agreed, or a mirror are the camera. The files stay on your machine.

  • Claude

A writing assistant for a shot list you then photograph yourself.

  • PureRef

Where the photos you took live while you draw.

How to do it

  1. 1

Describe the drawing, not a style

Tell Claude the action you need: someone leaning on a high table, a hand passing a cup, a coat over one shoulder. Ask for ten camera angles. Do not ask it to imitate another artist.

  2. 2

    Cut the list in half

Cross out anything you will not draw this week. A short list gets photographed. A long list stays a document.

  3. 3

    Shoot with permission

Use your phone. If another person is in the frame, ask first and say whether the photo is only for your desk. Natural light and a plain wall are enough.

  4. 4

File them next to the art

Put the selects on a PureRef board named for the job. Do not upload those photos to a public generator to 'improve' them.
